Initial CFI Certification — Including Spin Training

Getting your initial CFI is one of the most demanding certificates in aviation — and one of the most rewarding. Stuart specializes in training initial CFI candidates, including the spin endorsement that most flight schools can’t easily provide.

✈️ Initial CFI (ASEL)

Full preparation for your initial Certified Flight Instructor practical test. Stuart’s Part 142 simulator instruction background and airline training experience means you’ll be prepared to teach at the highest standard from day one.

🌀 Spin Endorsement — Hard to Find

The FAA requires a spin endorsement for initial CFI applicants. Most flight schools can’t easily provide this because of aircraft limitations. Stuart has the aircraft, the endorsement authority, and the experience to get you through spin training efficiently and safely.

📡 CFII — Instrument Instructor

Add your instrument instructor rating and open up a much larger student base. Stuart’s IFR background from airline operations and Part 142 instruction provides exceptional preparation.

✈️✈️ MEI — Multi-Engine Instructor

Complete your instructor credentials with a multi-engine instructor rating. Stuart holds an MEI and can guide you through the add-on process.

Why spin training matters: Finding an instructor with the right aircraft AND spin endorsement authority is harder than it sounds. Most GA schools avoid it. Stuart has both — and trains initial CFIs through the full spin awareness curriculum required by the FAA.

High Performance Endorsement

Want to fly aircraft with more than 200 horsepower? You need a high performance endorsement — and Stuart has access to the aircraft to get you there.

🚀 High Performance Endorsement

The FAA requires a high performance endorsement (14 CFR 61.31) to act as PIC of aircraft with engines of more than 200 horsepower. Stuart provides ground and flight instruction leading to this endorsement, with access to qualifying aircraft.

  • Ground instruction covering aircraft systems, performance, and operating procedures
  • Flight training in a high performance aircraft
  • Logbook endorsement upon satisfactory completion
Combine it: Pair your high performance endorsement with your time-building in the Alpha Trainer for a cost-effective path to commercial certificate eligibility.
